A brief introduction to our school

Our Reformed primary school can be found in the city centre of Debrecen within a walking distance from the famous Great Church.

Our school, which is next to the Ferenc Kölcsey Reformed Teachers' Training College, has got 856 children in 32 classes with a teaching staff of 75 people.

Our pupils do well at school. Our school offers special music and foreign language classes. English, German and Italian can be chosen by the learners.

Children in our school excel themselves not only in curricular but extra curricular activities too; they win prizes at school competitions and at sporting events.

Our school choir, Vox Iuventutis, has got 80 members. They have been to almost every country in Europe and have been awarded the best choir title several times.

The aerobic team has won gold medal at the Amateur World Championship five times.

Our school is well equipped. Special classrooms, a library of 35.000 volumes, a sports field, audio-visual equipment and Internet access assist our learners to facilitate success.

Being a demonstration school, college students do their teaching practice here with mentors.

It is our top priority to educate children in Reformed spirit and to create a loving atmosphere in our school. We have close ties with the parish of the Reformed Great Church. The ministers take part in Bible studies held for staff members, baptise our younger learners at the Great Church and prepare the older ones for confirmation. Our children have two Religious Studies lessons a week. On Monday and Friday morning R.S. teachers hold the morning devotions.
